Viking Water Polo main season is Fall We practice at the Dynamo Swim Facility (Shallowford Rd) … a great chance to test the waters.
Want to build strength and stamina, play a competitive team sport and have a blast with your friends at the same time? If you also like time in the pool, the sport of Water Polo may be right for you.
The Viking Water Polo team is always looking for new players — both girls and boys — to proudly wear the purple and help maintain its stature as a respected program in the local Water Polo community. Did you know that Viking Water Polo teams have previously competed for and won state championships? We welcome interested players of all skill levels, beginners and up … all of our players were beginners not long ago. (Still, you need do need to be able to swim fairly well).
Water Polo is a unique, fast-growing team sport that combines swimming, ball-movement and goal-shooting skills with aggressive defense, strategy and a ton of good times. The pace of the game is very quick and the competition can be exhilarating. Most of all, every game is intensely fun. Officially-sanctioned referees enforce the game rules, and each players’ sense of sportsmanship keep each game fair and safe. Camaraderie, respect and lasting friendships are perhaps the most invaluable assets of of the sport.

By blending together features of different sports and offering the thrill of intense competition and teammate fellowship, Water Polo’s popularity across Georgia and nationwide is on the rise. As an NCAA sport, colleges and universities across the country … especially out west and in the northeast … offer Water Polo scholarships to play on their collegiate teams.
In Georgia, the sport is governed by the Georgia High School Water Polo Association (GHSWPA). At Viking Water Polo, the sport is governed by community pride and a history of winning.
